Dr. David B. McGuigan, MD, is a comprehensive ophthalmologist at SIEHT who is deeply committed to protecting and enhancing his patients’ vision across every stage of life. Known for his thoughtful, individualized approach to care, Dr. McGuigan strives to not only treat eye conditions but to truly improve quality of life through restored and preserved sight.
Dr. McGuigan earned his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, with a minor in Hispanic Literature, from McGill University in Montreal, QC, graduating with honors in 2014. He continued post-graduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania before earning his Doctor of Medicine from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC, in 2021. While at Georgetown, he was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society in recognition of his academic excellence and leadership. He completed his residency in Ophthalmology at MedStar Georgetown University/Washington Hospital Center.
Throughout his training, Dr. McGuigan has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications and has been recognized with multiple honors for both his clinical and academic achievements. He remains actively engaged in advancing the field and bringing the latest innovations into his patient care.
A former Eagle Scout, Dr. McGuigan brings that same dedication and resilience to his personal interests, which include cooking, climbing, hiking, and backpacking. He is fluent in English and French and highly proficient in Spanish, allowing him to connect with and care for a diverse patient population.
