Dr. Christine A. Tagayun, M.D., is a board certified refractive surgeon and cornea specialist at one of our partner practices, See Clearly Vision in McLean, VA, who is assisting with LASIK surgery at SIEHT.
An Alabama native, Dr. Tagayun is dedicated to providing thorough and compassionate ophthalmic care with a dose of Southern charm. In addition to general eye care, cataract, and refractive surgery, she holds a strong passion for aesthetic procedures to rejuvenate and enhance the appearance of the eyes and eyelids.
Dr. Tagayun received her bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology from Emory University and a Master of Science degree in Biophysics and Physiology from Georgetown University. She returned to Alabama and earned her medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she received honors and recognition, including the Scholastic Excellence Award in Clinical Performance.
Her postgraduate training took her to the University of California at San Diego where she pursued an internship in Internal Medicine prior to completing Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas. She has extensive experience with laser-assisted cataract surgery, premium intraocular lenses, medical care of retinal diseases, and oculoplastic procedures.
Dr. Tagayun is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology as well as the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Dr. Tagayun has been honored as a “Top Doctor” by both the Washingtonian and Northern Virginia Magazine multiple times in recent years, reflecting her commitment to excellence in patient care and her expertise in the field.
Outside of the workplace, Dr. Tagayun enjoys traveling, musical theater, long distance running, scuba-diving, and photography.
